Announcing The British Music
List....
The British Music List is a mailing list devoted to discussion of classical music from
the British Isles. To subscribe to the list, send an EMail with the subject 'Subscribe' to:
listserv@listserv.uh.edu
The body of the message should contain :
subscribe bmusic-l yourfirstname yourlastname
You will receive two replies from the list server. The first one states, 'A confirmation request
is being mailed to you', and may be discarded - but you must reply to the second one within 48
hours to complete your subscription. The purpose of this confirmation procedure is to check that
the address LISTSERV is about to add to the list for your subscription is correct and can be
reached. Your reply to this second message should contain the word :
ok
within the body of the message. Your command will be cancelled automatically if you do
not confirm it within 48 hours. After that time, you must start again and resend the command to
get a new confirmation code. If you change your mind and decide that you do NOT want to
subscribe after all, simply ignore the second message and let the command expire on its own.
If you are interested in British Music in general, and Elgar in particular, why not subscribe
to the list? You may cancel your subscription at any time (full instructions are provided upon
confirmation of your joining the list).
