ENIGMA VARIATIONS
THE HIDDEN AGENDA

I am informed that certain persons believe that the "Hidden Agenda" in the Enigma Variations is based upon a certain part of Verdi's "Requiem". I have sought high and low for information on this supposed connection between these two works, so far to no avail.

Can anyone help me please, in particular which part of the "Requiem" is involved. If so my e-mail address is:-

Can anyone provide me with a copy of an article about an unpublished short manuscript by Elgar which appeared in the English Music Review about 1985 or 1986. I would very much appreciate any help which anyone could give me.

Does anyone have any information on this gentleman who conducted the 1924 recording of Elgar's Dream of Gerontius?

I am most interested in his work and any help and advice would be appreciated

Also, does anyone have any information about a festival which took place at the Albert Hall in May 1948? I would like to trace any reference to this but particularly to the guest list of VIP's who attended.

I wonder whether I could ask whether anyone out there has unusual information about the subjects of the Enigma Variations? I have read the biographies - most of them - and I live near to the very marvellous Elgar Birthplace. I go there regularly. So it is really anything that someone might know which is not in any of these sources. Even if you think you know something no-one else does I'd love to hear about it.
