The Society has around 130 members who are permanently
resident outside the UK, mainly in Europe, North America and Australasia. While regular
meetings of the
widely dispersed membership are not practical, overseas members are particularly welcome at the
AGM weekend and are kept in touch from time to time by newletters circulated either through
e-mail or by airmail by the International Co-ordinators. The team of three International
Co-ordinators very much welcomes news from members outside the UK, including details of any
Elgarian activities in which they may be involved or may have noticed.
The Internet provides a new medium through which international
members can correspond with each other. At the suggestion of one member living in the south
of France, this site contains a page of e-mail addresses
of Society members and others who wish to correspond by e-mail. The musical diary can also be used to reach an international
audience with details of concerts and other events featuring works by Elgar. If you are aware
of such events, please send details to Paul Adrian Rooke at the above address or:
by telephone on (+44) 01462 58614
or by e-mail international@elgar.org
