The Elgar Society Edition is a charity whose overarching aim is not to make a profit but to
generate a wider interest in Elgar's music. Volumes such as these, requiring careful academic
research, attention to detail and the finest production values, are not cheap to produce yet, in line
with the Elgar Society Edition's charitable objectives, we wish to offer them at prices which
place
them within financial reach of the widest possible readership. We therefore offer a variety of
payment and subscription options that enable those who wish to purchase volumes on a regular
basis to obtain significant savings on the full publication price.
Subscription Payments by Monthly Standing Order
You may not relish the thought of finding twice a year the full cost of a volume in a single
payment. We therefore offer a subscription scheme in which, in return for payments by standing
order of a minimum of £10 per month, you will receive a discount of 25% on the full retail
price of each volume you buy, plus postage, subject to your having a sufficient balance in your
account. As a
monthly subscriber:
- you are under no obligation to buy each new volume as it is published - you can wait
to receive our press release containing full details of the volume before deciding whether or not
to purchase;
- should you wish to buy, you can purchase as many copies of a volume as you wish at the
same 25%
discount on the purchase price;
- you can also buy back copies, including those originally published by Novello, at the same
25% discount on the purchase price, subject to availability;
- you can cancel your payments at any time providing your account remains in credit and
receive a full refund of all money in your account; or, if you wish, you can ask for a partial
repayment of the money in your account.
Single Payment Subscriptions and Pre-Publication Orders
If you prefer not to commit yourself to monthly payments or you do not wish automatically
to
receive all new volumes, you can still make sizeable savings on the full purchase price by joining
our subscriber mailing list. Shortly before the publication of a new volume, we will send you
details of the volume and its anticipated publication date. If you notify us no later than four
weeks after the projected publication date or the date on which we notify you that you wish to
purchase, or if you have advised us that you wish to receive a copy of each volume as it is issued,
you will receive a 10% discount on the full retail price. If you have chosen not to pay in advance,
you will be invoiced with the volume. As a member of our subscriber mailing list:
- you are under no obligation to buy each new volume as it is published - you can wait
to receive our press release containing full details of the volume before deciding whether or not
to purchase;
- should you wish to buy, you can purchase as many copies as you wish at the same 10%
discount on the purchase price;
- you can also buy back copies, including those originally published by Novello, at the same
10% discount on the purchase price.
Overseas Subscribers
Unless you inform us that you prefer to receive a volume by air mail, volumes will normally
be sent to overseas purchasers by surface mail. Unfortunately, because of the high charges
levied
by banks on foreign currency transaction, we can only accept payment in sterling. We can,
however, accept payment by credit card (Visa/Mastercard/Maestro). Such payments will be
processed for us by the Elgar Foundation/Elgar Birthplace.
How to Subscribe or Purchase
- If you wish to become a subscriber to the Complete Edition or you intend purchasing
volumes on a regular basis, please complete the on-line
subscription
form; or print out and complete the postal subscription
form and send it to the address shown on the form.
- If you do not wish to become a subscriber but wish to purchase individual volumes of the
Complete Edition, please do so through the Elgar Birthplace on-line
shop, which has secure facilities for handling credit card transactions.
